Brian M. Stack

Brian M. Stack, CAGS, is a former New Hampshire high school principal who spent 16 years at a Model PLC at Work® school engaged in nationally recognized K–12 competency-based learning. He is the director of innovative projects for the New Hampshire Learning Initiative and specializes in supporting teachers and administrators in schools and districts across the country.

Brian M. Stack

Brian M. Stack, CAGS, is a former New Hampshire high school principal who spent 16 years at a Model PLC at Work® school engaged in nationally recognized K–12 competency-based learning. He is the director of innovative projects for the New Hampshire Learning Initiative and specializes in supporting teachers and administrators in schools and districts across the country in developing, sustaining, and enhancing structures to support all learners. Prior to his work at Sanborn Regional High School, he was a high school math teacher in Massachusetts and served for six years on the school board in his local community.

Brian has worked nationally as a speaker, consultant and expert coach for a number of schools and organizations engaged in personalized learning. His latest Solution Tree book, Breaking With Tradition: The Shift to Competency Based Learning in PLCs at Work, was coauthored with Jonathan Vander Els to help school leaders. He has written countless educational articles that have been published by multiple professional organizations.

Brian received the New Hampshire Secondary School Principal of the Year award from the New Hampshire Association of School Principals in 2017. In 2010 and again in 2013, he was recognized with the Outstanding Role Model award from that same organization.

Brian earned a bachelors in math education from Boston University and an M.Ed. in education administration from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He is currently enrolled in a CAGS program at New England College. He lives with his wife Erica and their five children on the New Hampshire Seacoast.
