Becky Jo Evers-Gerdes, EdD, is the dean of academics at Loyola Catholic School in Mankato, Minnesota. Becky earned her master’s degree from Minnesota State University and doctorate from Bethel University.

Becky Jo Evers-Gerdes

Becky Jo Evers-Gerdes, EdD, is currently the dean of academics at Loyola Catholic School in Mankato, Minnesota. Her experiences include serving as an educator and administrator at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, including in schools designated as needing improvement by the Minnesota Department of Education. Becky’s additional titles include K–12 curriculum director, staff development coordinator, special education coordinator, and title program director. At the undergraduate and graduate level, Becky has served as a course developer and designer for Bethel University and as an adjunct faculty member for Minnesota State University, Bethel University, and Concordia University in the areas of leadership, research, K–12 education, and special education. Using ongoing student data and culturally responsive teaching, she focuses on treating social-emotional learning as equally important as academics and strong parent and community partnerships.

Becky has led teams and departments through aligning standards to coursework, and ensuring that formative and summative assessments are analyzed. Becky has also been active in co-presenting teacher retention solutions to professional organizations and independent school districts.

Becky has earned numerous commendations including the Southwest Minnesota State University Leadership Award, Celebration School Recognition, Reward School Recognition (highest performing fifteen percent of Title I schools in the state), Feinstein’s Good Deeds School Recognition, Environmental Awareness Award, Emerging Minnesota Schools of Character Award, and Academic Excellence Foundation (MAEF) School Spotlight Award.

Becky earned her doctorate in education administration from Bethel University and holds a master’s degree from Minnesota State University Mankato.
