Charly Baker has 15 years of experience in middle school mathematics. She specializes in guiding collaborative teams through the professional learning communities process. Charly’s focus is on ensuring equitable access to high-quality initial instruction, followed by targeted interventions and extensions driven by data.
Charly Baker
Charly Baker is an educator that is passionate about mathematics education. She has dedicated most of her career to supporting mathematics teachers and collaborative teams at a middle school in Huntsville, Texas. Currently she is serving as an instructional coach for mathematics. In her role she works with mathematics teams to plan quality first-time instruction and use data to provide students with targeted interventions and extensions.
Charly received the Secondary Teacher of the Year award for Huntsville ISD in 2017 and has received various “Teacher of the Month” awards for her district over the years. Her goal is to inspire mathematics teachers to believe that all students can learn mathematics at high levels and build their capacity in this work.
Charly earned her bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis in grades 4–8 mathematics. She also holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Sam Houston State University. She is currently certified in grades 4–8 mathematics and holds a Principal as Instructional Leader certification.
