Crystal Kuykendall, PhD, JD, is the founder and president of Kreative and Innovative Resources for Kids (K.I.R.K), Inc., which provides crucial services to those who guide youth at risk toward a positive future. Renowned for her powerful keynotes, Dr. Kuykendall infuses each presentation with vivid personal and professional experiences that inspire and empower educators.

Dr. Kuykendall is an example of the potential all children can realize when they receive love, support, and guidance. She was born in Chicago with very humble beginnings. At 16, she graduated from Hyde Park High School with four scholarships and the conviction to succeed.

Former executive director of the National Alliance of Black School Educators, Dr. Kuykendall has also served as director of urban and minority relations for the National School Boards Association, director of the Citizens Training Institute for the National Committee for Citizens in Education, and during the Carter administration, was chairperson of the National Advisory Council on Continuing Education. She currently dedicates her energy, knowledge, and skill to delivering presentations that motivate and offer real solutions to educators. Through more than 100 keynotes a year, Dr. Kuykendall facilitates self-analysis and inspires personal and organizational transformation.

Dr. Kuykendall is the author of six books, including the motivational character development planner Dreaming of a P.H.A.T Century.

Dr. Kuykendall earned a bachelor of arts in government from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and a master of arts in sociology from Montclair State University in New Jersey. Awarded a Ford Fellowship, she earned a doctorate in educational administration from Atlanta University. She received her juris doctor from Georgetown University Law Center and was admitted to the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. Dr. Kuykendall also received an honorary doctorate from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
