Darwin Prater Spiller

Dr. Spiller is executive director of Title IX Compliance and Investigations, a new division in Richardson ISD that he has been appointed to onboard. Previously he served for eight years as the Lake Highlands Learning Community executive director in Richardson ISD, a district with more than 10,500 preK–12 students. Darwin has served as classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, and school support officer.

Darwin Prater Spiller

Dr. Spiller is executive director of Title IX Compliance and Investigations, a new division in Richardson ISD that he has been appointed to onboard. Previously he served for eight years as the Lake Highlands Learning Community executive director in Richardson ISD, a district with more than 10,500 preK–12 students. Darwin has served as classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, and school support officer.

At Stults Road Elementary, he was labeled a “power principal.” He led his campus to a front-cover feature story in Texas School Business magazine for his work in establishing results-driven professional learning communities.

Darwin is an active life board member of the Texas Alliance of Black School Educators (TABSE), in which he serves in several leadership roles. He is president of the Richardson Area Alliance of Black School Educators (RAABSE) and an active life member of the National Alliance (NABSE) as well. In his spare time he works as a PLC Associate with Solution Tree.

Dr. Spiller earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Langston University and a master’s degree in educational leadership and policy study from the University of Texas at Arlington. He completed his doctorate in educational leadership at Dallas Baptist University. His research provided recommendations for improving teacher retention. Darwin holds Texas certification as a teacher, principal, and superintendent.
