Gwendolyn Zimmermann

Gwendolyn Zimmermann, PhD, is director of assessment, research, and evaluation at Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125, a model professional learning community district in Lincolnshire, Illinois.

She has served as journal editor for the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM). Additionally, she served on the committee that revised the adolescence and young adulthood mathematics standards for the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards. Dr. Zimmermann served as chair of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Educational Materials Committee. In 2001, she received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.

Dr. Zimmerman earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Northeastern Illinois University and a master of science in teaching mathematics from University of Illinois at Chicago. She earned educational administrative certification from the North Central College and a doctorate in mathematics education from Illinois State University.
