Dr. Julia “Jai” Wilson is an assistant principal for Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Kentucky. She has been an educator for 27 years and specializes in building PLCs from the ground up, relationship building, and school culture.

Dr. Julia “Jai” Wilson is an assistant principal for Jefferson County Public Schools in Louisville, Kentucky. She has been an educator for 27 years and specializes in building PLCs from the ground up, relationship building, and school culture.
Dr. Wilson presents on topics such as school culture, special populations, and professional learning community (PLC) implementation and monitoring. She believes all students are capable of learning at high levels and believes that once a relationship is built with each student, learning capacity is unlimited.
In addition to being nominated as a JCPS Outstanding Educator of Color, Dr. Wilson has served as the president, vice president, and treasurer of the JCPS Assistant Principals’ Association. She is also an adjunct professor at Campbellsville University in Kentucky.
Dr. Wilson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology education from Kentucky State University, a master’s degree in secondary education and leadership at Indiana University Southeast, and a doctorate of philosophy in educational leadership and organizational development at the University of Louisville.
