Jason Cianfrance

Jason Cianfrance has served as a high school mathematics teacher for more than 20 years. He also has experience teaching a rigorous STEM program, as well as with special education co-teaching. Jason has been both a team and department leader and has represented his school on many district initiatives related to mathematics instruction, grading, and reporting. Over the course of his teaching career, he has taught both traditionally structured and reform-based math curricula and has been instrumental in the design and implementation of several new programs.

Jason’s STEM experience is in an intense school-created program that focuses on research, writing, public speaking, and collaboration. Students in this program also complete internships in their fields of interest. His special-education experience has involved aspects of curriculum design, differentiation, and co-teaching strategies. He also recently headed a schoolwide initiative to design interventions for struggling freshmen.

Jason works extensively with grading and reporting, facilitation in a PLC, and common-course team strategies. He also focuses on finding ways to coherently use tenets of standards-based grading in a traditionally structured high school setting.

Jason earned a bachelor’s degree in math education from Colorado State University.
