Jessica Kanold-McIntyre

Jessica Kanold-McIntyre is an educational consultant and author committed to supporting teacher implementation of rigorous mathematics curriculum and assessment practices, blended with research-informed instructional practices. She works with teachers and schools around the country to meet the needs of their students. Specifically, she specializes in building and supporting the collaborative teacher culture through the curriculum, assessment, and instruction cycle.

In addition to being an educational consultant, she has served as a middle school principal, assistant principal, and mathematics teacher and leader. As principal of Aptakisic Junior High School in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, she supported her teachers in the implementation of initiatives, such as the Illinois Mathematics State Standards; Next Generation Science Standards; and the Social Studies College, Career, and Civic Life framework, while also supporting a one-to-one iPad environment for all students. She focused on teacher instruction through the professional learning community (PLC) process, creating learning opportunities around formative assessment practices, data analysis, and student engagement. She previously served as assistant principal at Aptakisic, where she led and supported special education, response to intervention (RTI), and English learner staff through the PLC process.

As a mathematics teacher and leader, Kanold-McIntyre strived to create equitable and rigorous learning opportunities for all students while also providing students with cutting-edge 21st century experiences that engage and challenge them. As a mathematics leader, she developed and implemented a districtwide process for the Common Core State Standards and led a collaborative process to create curriculum guides for K–8 mathematics, Algebra 1, and Algebra 2.

She currently serves as a board member for the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM).
