Kjell Fenn

Kjell Fenn is an assistant professor of education for the Center for Teaching Excellence at Liberty University as well as an educational specialist with KFenn Education and Global School Consulting Group. He is former superintendent of the International School of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and former headmaster of New Covenant Academy in Pennsylvania, where he led curricular improvement and professional development initiatives. He prides himself on having built a strong, professional community culture in both schools, leading to significant growth in enrollment, fundraising, and community recognition. Kjell has a strong belief in developing teachers to be dynamic in delivery and responsive to students’ needs.

Kjell has been an educator since 1995 with background as a teacher, coach, drama director, and curriculum coordinator. His educational experiences range from working in a predominantly low-income minority school to middle-class suburban or private international schools. He has also been on many accreditation review teams, working with schools in the Middle East, Canada, and the United States, and has presented throughout the United States, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, UAE, and Vietnam on topics ranging from engaging students and classroom management to motivation and differentiation. He published his first work, Engage: Motivational Strategies for a Dynamic Classroom, in 2019.

Kjell received a bachelor’s degree in English and secondary education from Nyack College, a master’s degree in counseling from Liberty University, and a master’s degree in education from Nyack College.
