Michael Fisher is a former teacher who is now a full-time educational consultant and instructional coach. He has worked with schools across the United States, as well as Canada, China, the Philippines, and Thailand.

Michael Fisher is a former teacher who is now a full-time educational consultant and instructional coach. He has taught a variety of grade levels and content areas over the years, primarily in middle schools. Since leaving the classroom in 2008, he has worked with schools across the United States, as well as Canada, China, the Philippines, and Thailand, facilitating curriculum upgrades, designing curriculum, and modernizing instruction with immersive technology.
Michael is a faculty member at both ASCD and Curriculum 21. He is an active blogger who writes often for the Curriculum 21 blog and ASCD’s EDge Social Network. His website is called The Digigogy Collaborative, and he can be found on Twitter @fisher1000.
He is the author of multiple books and is also a contributing author to Solution Tree’s Contemporary Perspectives on Literacy series, contributing chapters to Leading the New Literacies and Mastering Digital Literacy.
Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and a master’s in English education from Buffalo State College. He also holds post-baccalaureate certificates in teaching science and language arts, as well as gifted students.
