Ann Alfonso has been the principal of Bethke Elementary, a Model Professional Learning Communities at Work® school in Timnath, Colorado, since 2008. She is passionate about sustaining a positive, inclusive culture and developing young educators.

Ann Alfonso is currently the principal of Bethke Elementary, a Model Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work® School in Timnath, Colorado, since 2008. After teaching elementary and middle school in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Litchfield Park, Arizona, Ann served as a grades 6-12 assistant principal and an elementary principal in Colorado. After more than 31 years in education, Ann has shown consistent passion for building and sustaining positive school cultures and developing young educators and leaders.
Ann earned the Golden Bell Award as a teacher in Arizona, was named as a trained cognitive coach working in the Principal Leadership Institute at the Colorado Department of Education, and pens a monthly column in the Timnath Neighbors magazine. She led Bethke Elementary to numerous John C. Irwin and Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Awards in Colorado, and she is currently a member of ASCD and CASE.
Ann currently holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and master’s degree in education from Northern Arizona University.
