Chris Beingessner is the middle school principal of Singapore American School, located in the Woodlands area of Singapore. He has been a vice principal in elementary, middle and high schools around the world and has taught grades 1–12.

Chris Beingessner

Chris Beingessner is the middle school principal of Singapore American School, located in the Woodlands area of Singapore. He began his education career over 20 years ago, teaching middle school in rural Saskatchewan, and his first international experience was in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in 2005. He joined Singapore American School in July 2015 as deputy principal. He has been a vice principal in elementary, middle and high schools around the world and has taught grades 1–12.

Chris has both a bachelor’s degree in education, specializing in English and mathematics, and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Regina. His master’s thesis was a qualitative analysis of the power of culturally responsive project-based learning centered in the community to engage and empower students.

Chris holds a Certificate in Advanced Educational Leadership from Harvard, and he is a co-researcher with the University of Melbourne on a scoping study on the impacts of innovative learning environments on student learning, well-being, and inclusion.
