Chris Bergmann serves as an assistant principal at Timnath Middle-High School in Colorado. Previously, he spent 17 years as an administrator, science teacher, and coach at Kinard Middle School, a Model PLC at Work® School.

Chris Bergmann serves as an assistant principal at Timnath Middle-High School, part of the Poudre School District in Fort Collins, Colorado. Previously, he spent 17 years as an administrator, science teacher, and coach at Kinard Middle School, a Model PLC at Work® School. His passions include fostering healthy school culture, developing high-performing teams, empowering student leaders with executive functioning skills, and establishing restorative practices for student behaviors. He has also created a culture for sustainability and environmental leadership initiatives to impact the community.
Chris was a key contributor in Kinard’s designation as a Model PLC at Work School as well as its national recognition as a US Department of Education Blue Ribbon School. In addition to establishing some of the highest academic achievement and growth marks in the state of Colorado, Chris also led efforts to secure Kinard’s status as a US Department of Education Green Ribbon School for environmental sustainability.
As a green school leader, he garnered attention from a variety of organizations and publications, including Education Week, 9News KUSA Denver, Colorado Environmental Leadership Program, NPR’s Morning Edition, Cultures of Dignity, Colorado State University, Habitat for Humanity, and the Colorado Department of Education School Board. As a science teacher, Chris earned Rookie Teacher of the Year and was nominated by his colleagues for a variety of awards during his time in the classroom.
Chris received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Colorado State University.
