Cristi Parsons has 28 years of education experience as a teacher, counselor, principal, curriculum director, and assistant superintendent. She was named National Distinguished Principal in 2013 and has led two campuses in PLC practices to become Model PLC schools.

Cristi Parsons has 28 years of education experience as a teacher, counselor, principal, curriculum director, and assistant superintendent. She was named National Distinguished Principal in 2013 and has led two campuses in PLC practices to become Model PLC schools.
She is a member of the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) and the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association (TEPSA). In 2013, both organizations named Cristi as National Distinguished Principal of the Year. In that capacity, Cristi consulted with districts throughout Texas on best practices and gave the commencement speech to graduates of the University of Texas at Tyler.
As an administrator in Hallsville ISD, she worked alongside a team to create a Model PLC district. Her specialization is early literacy, elementary best practices and aligning curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Her passion is collaborating with principals to create a PLC culture focused on learning, achieving results, and developing a culture of collective responsibility.
Cristi earned a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Stephen F. Austin University, a master’s degree in counseling and student services from the University of North Texas, and a master’s degree in instructional leadership and superintendent certification from the University of Texas at Tyler.
