Darin L. Fahrney
Darin L. Fahrney, PhD, is the coordinator for strategic implementation and an upper school teacher at the American International School of Zagreb, Croatia. In his previous role as chief academic officer at the Singapore American School (SAS), he oversaw grades P–12 alignment and implementation of curriculum and instruction, learning support, world languages, and student life. Darin's collaborative work at SAS led to the school becoming the first Model Professional Learning Community (PLC) at Work® School in an international setting, a distinction the school has continued to earn for almost a decade. Darin brings a broad range of experience and expertise to his work, having previously served as a high school principal, learning support coordinator, gifted and talented coordinator, contributing author, researcher, and consultant.
His doctoral research examined student perceptions of response to intervention at the high school level. This research gave rise to the compassionate RTI approach of ensuring high levels of learning for all students in a nurturing, supportive environment.
Dr. Fahrney holds a PhD and an MA from Marian University and an MS and a BS from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.
