Erika Chapa

Erika Chapa serves as the director of intervention, Section 504, and dyslexia for Pasadena Independent School District in Texas. Erika was instrumental in leading Pasadena ISD towards full implementation of intervention structures and supports for all students across 68 campuses. Prior to that, she served as a bilingual teacher, literacy instructional coach, and intervention specialist for her school district. She serves as a member of the district-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports committee, which focuses on providing guidance and training to campuses in regards to behavioral interventions at all tiers.

Erika has received several recognitions, including teacher of the year for the 2012-2013 school year, as well as the Together We Can Award during the 2013-2014 school year. This award is given to educators whose colleagues recognize them as team members who strive to collectively achieve more in an effort to support all students.

As a graduate of the University of Texas, Erika received her master’s degree, focusing on educational leadership and policy studies along with her principal certification in 2016. She graduated from the University of Houston Downtown with her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 2005.
