Heather serves as the superintendent of schools in Fox Lake District 114 in the northern Illinois suburbs. Her work focuses on the change process, successful implementation of PLC practices, collaboration between general and special educators, educator wellness, and ensuring learning for ALL in schools. She has experience as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, elementary and middle school principal, and special education coordinator.

She is the coauthor of the bestselling Yes We Can! and has coauthored numerous other books and articles.
