Melissa Carli, MEd, is a project manager for several federally-funded projects at the University of Central Florida. Through the projects, Melissa supports teachers as they build their professional knowledge to support all learners.
In her former role, Melissa was a curriculum program specialist, where she collaborated with schools and teachers to assist them in preparing for and implementing rigorous mathematics and literacy instruction. Through professional learning, coaching, mentoring, and curriculum development, she equips teachers with the tools and knowledge to foster critical thinking in their students. Melissa has experience teaching at the elementary and middle school levels and has served as both a school-based and district-based instructional coach.
Melissa is an author on the Making Sense of Mathematics for Teaching book series. She has presented her work at local and national conferences, including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), on using effective instructional practices in mathematics. She is a member of multiple organizations, including the Florida Council for Exceptional Children (FCEC), where she has presented at their annual conference on language and literacy.
She earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from the University of Florida and also holds a master’s degree in educational leadership.
