Melissa R. Carli

Melissa Carli, MEd, is a project manager for several federally-funded projects at the University of Central Florida. Through the projects, Melissa supports teachers as they build their professional knowledge to support all learners.

In her former role, Melissa was a curriculum program specialist, where she collaborated with schools and teachers to assist them in preparing for and implementing rigorous mathematics instruction. Her focus is on providing teachers with the tools and knowledge necessary to help their students think critically around mathematical content. Melissa taught at both the elementary and middle school levels and has served as both math coach and department chair.

Melissa is an author on the Making Sense of Mathematics for Teaching book series. She has presented her work at local and state conferences, including the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), on using effective instructional practices in mathematics. She is a member of the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics and NCTM.

She earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from the University of Florida and also holds a master’s degree in educational leadership.
