Shanna K. Helmke has been a dedicated educator since 2011. She currently serves as an instructional coach at Linn-Mar Community School District in Marion, Iowa, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role. Her journey in education began in the elementary classroom, where she taught grades 3–5, focusing on student engagement and innovative teaching strategies. Alongside her work as an instructional coach, Shanna also serves as an adjunct professor at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, furthering her commitment to fostering excellence in education.

Throughout her career, Shanna has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to education. Her expertise has been popular at various conferences, where she has presented on topics such as technology integration, blended learning, and innovative teaching methods. Shanna is also a certified trainer in cognitive coaching and adaptive schools, equipping her with skills to support and empower educators in their professional growth. As a Seesaw for Schools Ambassador, she advocates for the effective use of digital tools to enhance student learning experiences. Shanna’s dedication to continuous improvement is evident in her pursuit of professional development in areas such as blended learning, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and leveraging technology in the classroom.

Shanna’s educational journey began at the University of Iowa, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in psychology and endorsements in early childhood, reading, and social studies. Building on this foundation, she pursued advanced degrees, including a master of education in learning and technology, a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Western Governors University, and a master of education in administration with a principal endorsement from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. These qualifications have equipped Shanna with the knowledge and skills to lead and inspire educators toward success.
