Sheila A. Eller

Sheila A. Eller, EdD, has extensive leadership and coaching experience. She has served as both a middle school and elementary school principal in a variety of settings and states. In addition to leadership, Dr. Eller has had extensive teaching experiences, serving as a special education teacher, a Title I math teacher, a teacher in grades 1–4, and a university professor.

A particular area of leadership strength for Dr. Eller is transforming school cultures. She has been involved in at least five school transformation projects during her career, focusing on empowering and motivating school staff.

Dr. Eller shares her expertise at national conferences and in school districts working in the areas of school turnaround, effective instruction, teacher evaluation, building leadership teams, teacher leadership, and a variety of other topics. As a professor at National Louis University, she worked on the development team for a classroom mathematics series, and her teaching skills were featured on a video that accompanied the series. Dr. Eller coauthored many books and publications designed to support leaders including, Flip this School, Thriving as a New Teacher, Working with Difficult and Resistant Staff, and Score to Soar. She uses the information from these and other research-proven sources to support leaders through workshops and coaching sessions.

Dr. Eller has been a member of the Minnesota ASCD executive board and a regional president of the Minnesota Association of Elementary School Principals.

Dr. Eller received a doctorate in educational leadership and administration from St. Cloud State University, a master’s degree from Creighton University, and a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University.
