Steve Gruenert

Steve Gruenert, PhD, has been at Indiana State University since 2002 teaching educational leadership courses and doing research in the field of school culture and climate. He has experience as a public school teacher and an administrator at the secondary level. Steve’s research into school culture started in 1996 at the University of Missouri, and he has continued to conduct research, guide dissertations, present at conferences, and write about the topic.

Steve has a doctorate in school governance from the University of Missouri. Steve likes to play golf and fish, but he spends many hours each week thinking about the next book on school culture; he has written four so far. Steve and his wife, Emily, have been married for 30 years. They have three daughters and three grandchildren.
