has served students in her community for 27 years. Currently, she serves as director of elementary, equity, and access for Norwalk La Mirada USD in California. Dr. Isiah is passionate about equity and access, multilingual education, leadership, and closing opportunity gaps for historically underserved students. Dr. Isiah’s experiences as an immigrant, English learner, and a child in poverty add to her passion for her work.

Dr. Rosa Isiah has served students in her community for 27 years. Currently, she serves as director of elementary, equity, and access for Norwalk La Mirada USD in California. Dr. Isiah is passionate about equity and access, multilingual education, leadership, and closing opportunity gaps for historically underserved students. Dr. Isiah’s experiences as an immigrant, English learner, and a child in poverty add to her passion for her work.

Dr. Isiah is passionate about actionable equity and social justice in education. As principal for seven years at Smith Elementary School in California, she focused on supporting the development of a healthy school culture, building and sustaining a professional learning community, and meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of the whole-child and whole-community. Smith Elementary was recognized for closing gaps for African American, English Learner, and Hispanic students.

Dr. Isiah was recognized as the Loyola Marymount University 2019 Educational Leader for Social Justice.
