Tihesha Henderson

Tihesha Henderson is a transformational education leader with more than 20 years of experience as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, lead principal, and executive director. Passionate about school improvement, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed practices, she has a proven track record of turning struggling schools into thriving learning communities. Her innovative approach to school culture transformation significantly reduced suspensions and conduct referrals, fostering a more positive and supportive learning environment.

Tihesha has received numerous awards and accolades for transforming school culture with high-impact strategies. As the 2022 Principal of the Year and the Darius Leonard Community MVP, Tihesha empowers educators through visionary leadership, coaching, and strategic implementation to create lasting, equitable change in education. She has published articles about teacher wellness and burnout and how to build safe and caring school communities.

Tihesha earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Indiana State University as well as a master’s degree at Indiana Wesleyan University.
