Deborah Ricker

Deborah Ricker is principal of Glenwood Ridge Elementary School in Basehor, Kansas. Prior to going into administration, she spent 19 years as a school psychologist in the Kansas City area. She also served as the coordinator of the Private Schools Team in the Blue Valley School District, which allowed her to work with private schools in addition to the public school system. As a school psychologist, she took a vested interest in behavior and trauma-informed care.

Deborah’s background in school psychology has given her the opportunity to work with early childhood through high school. While she currently serves in an elementary school, her experience has allowed for a broad perspective of all ages and challenges. She enjoys presenting to any size group, whether it’s her staff of approximately 50 adults or an auditorium full of people. She is a member of the United School Administrators of Kansas and the Kansas Principals Association.

Deborah received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Kansas State University, a master’s degree and educational specialist degree in school psychology from Emporia State University, and a building-level licensure in educational administration from Emporia State University.
