Geoffrey Fenelus is a dedicated and visionary leader in education with over a decade of experience across traditional school districts and charter networks. Beginning his career as a special education teacher, Geoffrey has since taken on a variety of leadership roles, including coach, dean, assistant principal, principal, and founder. His work spans diverse educational landscapes, including Woodstock, Connecticut; Indianapolis; and the South Bronx and Brooklyn in New York, where he has led transformative efforts to foster thriving school cultures.
In his current role as director of charter schools in Indiana, Geoffrey plays a critical role in promoting educational excellence and expanding student choice. He oversees the $109-million Charter School Program Quality Counts, strategically administering funds to drive innovation, ensure compliance, and elevate school performance. Geoffrey develops and implements policies for the establishment, operation, and evaluation of charter schools, working in partnership with authorizers to monitor performance and maintain accountability.
