Laura Conwell is the principal of Longfellow Elementary in Bozeman, Montana. She has nearly 20 years of experience as an elementary school teacher and principal. As an elementary principal, she has worked to create a culture of collaboration by embedding the professional learning communities(PLC) process to grow student performance and build teacher capacity. Longfellow Elementary was recognized as a Model PLC at Work® school in 2023.
Prior to her position as principal, Laura spent 11 years as an elementary teacher, where she took on several leadership roles at the building and district level. Laura worked in elementary schools in Wyoming and Montana—all with strong professional learning communities.
Laura is a National Board Certified Teacher and a Kagan Cooperative learning coach. She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Montana and a master’s degree in educational leadership from University of Wyoming.
