Leticia Amalla

Lety Amalla currently serves as the executive director of student programs for Midland ISD in Midland, Texas. In this role, she oversees the bilingual/ESL, career and technical education, GT/advanced academics, and fine arts programs. Lety is charged with the responsibility of ensuring that these programs are on a continuous improvement cycle aiming to meet state performance and compliance goals. Lety is passionate about continuous school improvement and increasing the academic performance of all student groups including emergent bilingual, economically disadvantaged, special education and gifted and talented students via full implementation of the Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).

Prior to these job assignments, Lety served in multiple professional support and administrative capacities in Ector and Midland ISD in West Texas.

Lety attended Odessa College and the University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB) where she earned a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish with a minor in multicultural studies. Additionally, she earned a master of education in special education and thrity hours of post-graduate course work in the area of educational leadership and language acquisition.
