Lisa M. Reddel

Lisa M. Reddel is the executive principal of school improvement in a large metropolitan school district in Northern Virginia. She has over 30 years of experience in public education as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, district director, and educational consultant.

Prior to her current role, Lisa was an elementary school principal for 15 years in three separate schools in Virginia and Colorado. She was nominated for Outstanding Principal in 2017, 2018, and 2019 in her current school district. Lisa has also worked in the central office supporting administrators K–12 in both states, and she has been a practitioner and advocate for developing successful professional learning communities (PLCs) for over 20 years.

Lisa has experience working in schools with diverse populations and is committed to providing all students with the access and opportunities they need for academic success. She has a proven track record of increasing student achievement and closing special education achievement gaps in various subjects as well as increasing access to advanced academic resources in classrooms for all students. She places an emphasis on a caring and collaborative culture for students, staff and families and has made it a priority to inspire students to build positive relationships with each other as well as with the staff and their community.

Lisa has presented at conferences across the country, including at the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), and Colorado School Nutrition Association (CSNA).

As a lifelong learner, Lisa holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mary Washington College. She obtained her master’s degree in education administration from Virginia Tech. She is also a graduate of the National Staff Development Academy, now Learning Forward.
