Michael T. Adamson, Ed.D., is the Director of Board Services at the Indiana School Boards Association, a position he has held since 2006, retiring from his position as a Purchasing Program Manager at Allison Transmission Division of General Motors after 31+ years of employment. Adamson is a former school board member of the Avon Community School Corporation in Avon, Indiana where he served for a total of 20 years, from 1974-78 and 1984-2000.

Adamson has been primarily responsible for the oversight and facilitation of professional development activities for school board members throughout Indiana. He is also a member of the NASS (National Affiliation of Superintendent Searchers) through the National School Boards Association. Michael has also served as a resource for the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents for training in superintendent evaluation preparation and has been a regular contributor to the School Administrator, the magazine of the American Association of School Administrators. He has also been a presenter for the Indiana Association of School Business Officials Leadership Academy on school board/administrator relationships. In addition to his presentations and facilitation support for Indiana’s 289 school districts, Adamson also serves as the editor and contributing writer to the Indiana School Boards Association’s quarterly magazine, The Journal.

Dr. Adamson received a bachelor of science degree in business administration, master of science in management, master of arts in leadership studies, and a doctorate of education degree in organizational leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University.
