Brooks Baca

Brooks Baca is the managing director of human resources for Frisco ISD in Texas. In this role, he provides dedicated support to campus and district personnel. Previously, Brooks served as the principal of Bowman Middle School in Plano, where he devoted six years to fostering a collaborative culture, collective responsibility, and shared leadership practices. These efforts led to significant improvements in student outcomes through the implementation of the professional learning communities (PLC) process.

Notably, in the fall of 2021, Bowman Middle School achieved Model PLC at Work® status, becoming the 16th middle school in Texas to attain this recognition. This achievement was a result of sustained schoolwide collaboration, centered around the three core ideas of a PLC, and focused on the four essential questions that guide the school towards continuous student growth and academic success.

Throughout his career, Brooks has primarily worked in Title I schools. He possesses a deep passion for cultivating a culture of high expectations for all students. By employing data-driven practices, Brooks is committed to implementing strategies that effectively address the achievement gap for English learners. Additionally, he strives to develop processes for shared leadership, which enable collaborative teams to thrive.

Brooks holds a bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas and a master's degree from Lamar University.
