Casey Bertram is superintendent of Bozeman Public Schools in Montana. He has more than 20 years’ experience as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and principal at the elementary level, as well as 3 years’ experience in central office roles. Under his leadership, Bozeman Public Schools has worked to close identified achievement gaps through early literacy, science of reading implementation, and the systematic use of RTI/MTSS and professional learning communities.

Prior to his central office roles as a deputy superintendent and interim superintendent, Casey worked for 11 years as an elementary principal. During his time as principal, Hawthorne Elementary School was recognized as a Model PLC at Work® school, the only school in Montana with this international distinction.

While Casey was serving as principal of Hedges Elementary School, the school was awarded the 2010 National Title I Distinguished Schools Award for sustained excellence in academic achievement.

Casey has a heart and passion for supporting students from hard places and completed Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner Training in 2018.

Casey received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from University of Great Falls (now the University of Providence), a master’s degree in educational leadership from University of Phoenix, and a superintendent certification from Montana State University.
