Dr. Christie Shealy is the director of testing and accountability for Anderson School District One in South Carolina. Likewise, she coordinates the multilingual learners program in the district. In her current role, she leads the work of Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work® as part of the district learning team. The team provides professional learning for administrators and staff across the district to build and grow a robust PLC. Within South Carolina, Dr. Shealy has served in many capacities within the field of mathematics, such as instructional review, standards alignment, assessment review, and content review teams. She specializes in developing PLCs at various levels. She taught high school mathematics for seven years, worked as an instructional coach for three years, and served as a district administrator for fifteen years.

As a South Carolina Association of School Administrators member, Dr. Shealy participates in a testing and accountability round table. She regularly presents during the summer leadership conference on professional learning communities and supporting multilingual needs. Likewise, she teaches graduate courses for certification in multilingual education.

Completing an educational doctorate from Clemson University in education improvement science allowed Dr. Shealy to apply the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) process to address an academic problem of practice. The PDSA cycle of inquiry serves as the basis of ongoing learning cycles in a PLC. Her dissertation focused on identifying a method to provide learning to support the educational needs of multilingual learners through collaborative teams operating as professional learning communities. In addition, she earned degrees from Clemson University in mathematics curriculum and administration.
