Heather Babb

Heather Babb has taught for almost 20 years in both high school and college settings. During her tenure, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership as a department chair and mentor, guiding her department, school, and district through the transition to a professional learning community (PLC), ultimately resulting in being recognized as a Model PLC at Work® school. Heather has been instrumental as a key participant in her school’s disciplinary literacy initiatives and has contributed significantly to her district’s literacy cohorts. She is adept at modeling and crafting clear learning targets, scales, activities, and assessments tailored to enhance literacy achievement district-wide.

As a National Board Certified Teacher, Heather was honored with a Yale Educator Award and named by her district as Teacher of the Year. She also served in multiple leadership capacities within her school and district.

Heather holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Utah State University and a master’s degree in education from Southern Utah University, focusing specifically on creating effective writing instruction programs.
