Scot Curran

Scot Curran is an elementary instructional teacher on special assignment (TOSA) across five schools in the White River School District in Buckley, Washington. He specializes in cultivating a professional learning community (PLC) culture by supporting collaborative teacher teams, school leadership teams, and district stakeholders. In his current role as an instructional TOSA, he provides professional learning sessions around feedback, engagement, formative assessment, and various other instructional needs to both certificated teaching staff and paraprofessionals. He works closely with grade-level teams to analyze standards and student work to determine next steps for multitiered instruction leading to improved outcomes for learners.

Scot was a teacher at Mountain Meadow Elementary School when it was recognized as a Model PLC at Work® school in 2016, and he supported the school instructionally when it was named a finalist for the DuFour Award in 2019. In 2021, Mountain Meadow was also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of the highest-performing elementary schools in Washington State.

Scot received his master’s degree in elementary education at the University of Pittsburgh.
