Yodit Hizekiel is the elementary deputy principal at the International Community School of Addis Ababa, a Model PLC at Work® school. She is passionate about promoting student success through equipping teachers to implement the PLC process.

Yodit Hizekiel is the elementary deputy principal at the International Community School of Addis Ababa, a Model PLC at Work® school. In her almost 20 years in education, Yodit has worked as a learning coach, a team leader, and a classroom teacher internationally and throughout Texas and California in public and private elementary schools. Yodit is passionate about promoting student success through equipping teachers to implement the PLC process.
Yodit is a contributing author for PLCs at Work® and the IB Primary Years Programme: Optimizing Personalized, Transdisciplinary Learning for All Students. She is a longtime member of Toastmasters International, having held leadership positions in her club as president, vice president of public relations, and sergeant at arms.
Yodit is also a workshop leader and has presented at the PLC at Work Institute in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Yodit has a certificate of school management and leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Additionally, Yodit has completed training in a variety of areas of the IB Primary Years Programme, student-centered coaching, reading and writing instruction, and math.
Yodit received her bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, and her master’s degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is working on a doctoral program in educational leadership with Wilkes University in Pennsylvania.
