Tim Solley

Tim Solley currently serves as a leadership coach for the Alabama Department of Education’s Office of School Improvement. With more than 35 years of experience in public school education, he previously served as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, director of middle schools, director of teaching and learning, and assistant superintendent of instruction and academic accountability.

As assistant superintendent of instruction and academic accountability, Tim’s responsibilities included leading curriculum and instruction, professional development, administrator preparation programs, and the implementation of the Professional Learning Communities at Work® process. Under Tim’s leadership, seven of Madison County’s 28 schools were recognized as Model PLC at Work schools. In addition, 20 schools have been awarded Lighthouse School status by Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence.

In his presentations and training sessions, Tim shares his experience on developing and sustaining highly effective PLCs. He guides educators through engaging activities and thoughtful discussions that help schools strengthen their processes.

Tim received his bachelor’s degree in health and physical education and history from the University of North Alabama. He earned a master’s degree from Mississippi State University and an educational specialist certification in educational leadership from Jacksonville State University.
