Tammy Zunker

Tammy Zunker has more than 30 years of experience in education. She served as the K–6 elementary math and early childhood coordinator for Conroe Independent School District in Conroe, Texas. She specializes in working closely with instructional leaders, math coaches, and math teachers to leverage the professional learning communities (PLC) process. Her focus is on strengthening collaborative planning to significantly impact teaching and learning outcomes. During her 36 years of experience in education, Tammy has also served as a special education teacher, general education teacher, district instructional math coach, and an elementary math specialist. In her final role as coordinator, she supported 48 diverse elementary and intermediate campuses across the district.

During Tammy’s time as classroom teacher, she received the honor of being named teacher of the year at her campus multiple times. Tammy also received recognition from the district school board for her outstanding contributions during the pandemic. She was lauded for her creation of a virtual math curriculum tailored for teachers and played a pivotal role in assisting with the development of the district's virtual school. She has been a member of Texas Association of Supervisors of Mathematics (TASM) for over ten years.

Tammy earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Sam Houston State University and her master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Lamar University.
