Tracy Nelson

Tracy Nelson served as the districtwide elementary English language arts teacher on special assignment in the White River School District, a Model Professional Learning Community (PLC) at Work® district in Buckley, Washington. With over 30 years of experience in education, Tracy specializes in supporting districts, buildings, and teams in developing and implementing tools and practices that bring clarity and focus to PLC work. Tracy spent 26 years in the classroom before moving to her districtwide role.

Tracy is the recipient of the Washington State Sharon Christa Mcauliffe Award for Excellence. She was also named Puget Sound Educational Service District Teacher of the Year and Washington State Teacher of the Year Finalist in 2003.

She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her elementary education certification from Western Washington University.
